Where this calculator helps
Work out how much a monthly SIP could grow to for a goal like a car, a home down-payment or retirement.
See how investing monthly compares with putting in a one-time amount over the same period.
Check how increasing your SIP a little every year (as your income grows) boosts the final amount.
Reverse-plan by trying different monthly amounts until the future value matches your goal.

Frequently asked questions
What is a SIP?
A SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) is a way of investing a fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals, usually every month. It builds the habit of investing and, over long periods, benefits from compounding and rupee-cost averaging.
How is SIP future value calculated?
This calculator assumes your monthly amount earns a steady expected return, compounded monthly, with each instalment invested at the start of the month. The future value is the total of all instalments plus the returns they earn until the end of the period.
What return should I assume?
Returns are not fixed — they depend on the fund and the market. Many people use a long-term assumption of around 10–12% per year for equity funds as a rough guide, but you should adjust it to be realistic. Past performance does not guarantee future returns.
What is a step-up SIP?
A step-up (or top-up) SIP increases your monthly investment by a set percentage every year — for example 10% — usually to match your rising income. Even a small step-up can significantly increase the final amount over long periods.
Is the result guaranteed?
No. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks and returns are never guaranteed. This calculator gives an estimate based on the return you assume, so the actual value can be higher or lower. It is not investment advice.
Is this SIP calculator free?
Yes, it's completely free with no sign-up, and everything is calculated in your browser so your figures stay private.
